"hard to say without a full survey...wasp normally nest in the wall cavity, under ground or under pvc...so seeing the nest in your loft is a bit unusual for me...in all cases a professional is needed."

"I will always recommend calling a professional pest control technician in to survey the nest as this could be wasps, Solitary bees, Hornets, or even Honey bees and these require different levels of actioning treatment.

A qualified technician will be able to identify, treat if possible or advise you on what action may need to be taken.

A "do it yourself" approach can be dangerous from a health & safety perspective as well as an environmental one."

"Call a pest technician like myself and we will spray powder into the nest and within a couple of hours the wasps and nest will be gone."

"Removing a wasps nest should be carried out by a professional. Wasps feel threatened when a nest is approached, and when they feel threat, they release a pheromone calling other wasps to help protect the nest causing a serious health risk.

A trained professional will have protective clothing and the right skills and tools to deal with the best safely.

When finding a pest controller, always use a member of the British Pest Control Association (BPCA)
