Getting rid of ants from the house

Question

Ants return to my house every year, despite trying to kill them all off. We keep the place clean and keep food in tight storage, but still they come back. What can we do?

Callyourlocal Pest Controller they will carry a Jel that is applied and this will stop
the ants

Ground black or red pepper Should do the job  so they don’t come back 
I’ve also been told the ash my get from coal or bbq works

Perplexed as to why you are asking this particular question at this time of year.
If you have ants in the house now they will certainly not be our native species I.e. the black or Garden ant. They cannot survive our winters. only the new queens can, in a hibernative state. If you have an active infestation of ants in your house at the moment then they will most probably be pharoah ants in which case you won't be able to get rid of them without professional help. I.e. Pest control.

You are using the wrong poison. You need something stronger to kill off the nest before the queens mate around june/july where they bury themselves for next years egg laying
