Foghorn noise when flushing toilet

Every time we flush the toilet there's a loud foghorn noise that lasts a second or two. It's only this one toilet. Can I fix this myself?

"It will be a faulty washer or inlet valve, you'll need plumbing tools to change the inlet valve or you need to by the right washer to match it, i recommend getting someone professional out to look at it and fix it, cos they can be tricky sometimes and you need knowledge on the valves your looking at."

"This is a vibration in the fill valve, which is generally caused by a damaged diaphragm.
This can be repaired by replacing the fill valve."

"This is usually a faulty ball valve, if it only happens when the toilet is flushed, a new ball valve should cure it"

"If you have a isolator on the inlet valve. Or water stop cock works easy enough to change yourself"

"Replace the fill valve depending on how handy you are. Not an overly difficult task but if done incorrectly you can flood your floor"

"After you flush the toilet, the tank empties and the fill valve (also called the ballcock) allows water to refill the tank. As water flows through the valve under high pressure, the internal washer, diaphragm, or float mechanism may not close properly often due to wear, mineral buildup (limescale), or age.
This causes the water flow to make the valve parts vibrate rapidly. The vibration turns the valve into a kind of resonator, producing a loud, deep foghorn like noise similar to the sound you get when blowing across the top of a bottle or through a whistle.
In most cases, a partially clogged or worn fill valve is the root cause of this issue."

"Hi there,
The fog horn noise is a failing fill valve, if you are confident enough this is something you can rectify yourself however to prevent any potential leaks I would advise getting a plumber to look at.
We can help"
