Floor levelling compound and screed

Is floor levelling compound and floor screed the same thing? We're trying to prep a floor for laying LVT.

"In layman's terms yes , but if its water based screed , the floor will need priming first before the screed is applied, if the floor is not primed, the screed will just come up"

"It’s not, floor levelling compound is known as latex screed which is used for levelling and smoothing the floor . Floor screed is a sand a cement mix used to build concrete floors."

"Hi, if you have concrete subfloor & it’s uneven you will require self levelling latex depending how uneven your floor is you can with most brands go up to 40mm depths to achieve your goal.

"No floor levelling compound is applied as a liquid and will find its own level. Screed is a semi dry sand based concrete finish that needs to be levelled and troweled flat."

"Yes and no. Technically screed is what goes underneath the latex(the screed is the subfloor). But some people call floor levelling compounds screed"

"It pretty much is the same thing. Either one will work as long as you prime the surface floor so the screed bonds well to the floor"

"People use the same term for levelling compound, and latex screed. these are basically the same. However a floor screed is either a liquid floor screed, or a sharp sand and cement mix that covers your concrete sub base in the property"
