Floor issue removing pine slithers

Hi,
I had my pine floorboards professionally sanded and the gaps filled in with pine slithers. I now hate the look with the filled in slithers - can these be removed? I feel so stupid as I agreed to get them done like this and it was also very expensive.

"Good evening.
Yes they can be removed. Larch wood slithers might have been a better option to use. With pine it expands over time and will create a lip. Hope this helps.
Kind regards,

"I believe that it would be cheaper to consider other flooring to go on top of the existing one. Have you considered that as an option at all?"
