Fitting a hinged shower screen on an L shaped bath

We have replaced tiles on end wall of our L shaped bath and have a new hinged bath screen to go on which obviously means drilling into the tiles. Is this a DIY job or does it need an expert? Thanks.

"In my opinion you should leave it to the professionals as specific drill bits are required and certain fixings needed depending on what the walls behind the tiles are"

"Most shower screen can be diy now, silicone, screws and plugs."

"It doesn't need an expert , however you will need to use a drill with a tile bit in it on a slow setting .

it needs to be done carefully .

secondly if it is a plaserboard wall the should have been a batten installed behind the plasterboard to support the shower screen.

good luck"

"I'll suggest you leave to the professionals except of course you're sure you know what and how to do it. Drilling tiles require special drill bits which are coated or marked with blue paint or colour. Ask the builders merchant for tile drill bits if you want to DIY. Be careful not to crack the tiles"

"I think you should leave to the Professional because its not only tile drill bits because you need to change size of bit and screws to fit including the level where the brackets should be lined in order to plumb the bath propery"

"Use battery drill on low speed 6mm drill, raw plugs and silicone"

"This can be done carefully using a tile bit on your drill (just to get through the tile). Take it slowly and gently to get though the tile."

"you can do it, get a tile drill bit and MAKE SURE you keep the tile drill bit wet to prevent over heating and the breaking of the tool bit. 2nd thing is you make sure your wall plug goes past the tile to stop it from cracking the tile when tightening"

"I would suggest it needs an expert or you might crack the tile and have a lot of work on your hands

He will drill it with a wet drill fitting to keep the temperature down so the tile dosent heat and crack"
