Durability of condensate pipe and replacement work

How long do condensate pipes tend to last before they'll need replacing? How would I know when it needs replacing and must it be replaced by a professional?

"They’re made of plastic so won’t corrode and all they do is run some steam from the boiler, so a very long time…. A visual check would find any cracks…."

"The condense pipe should last for years ,because it is only a plastic overflow pipe ,.if it has to go outside as long as the connections are glued properly and it is well lagged then it will last ,the only reason it would need replacing is either it's got broken or it got a blockage and needed to be cut out and replaced"

"Hi June. The condensate pipe should last at least as long as the appliance. Unless it is exposed to heat or physical damage. It is a fairly simple thing to replace. But remember you will need to ensure joints are watertight. And you should replace like for like. Any rerouting needs to allow for gravity to make it work."

"Condensate pipes should last at least twenty years or mo if installed properly by a qualified engineer - nothing to go wrong with them except getting blocked or freezing - could get a leek that needs replacing once in a while"

"1. The correct pipe installed properly will last as long as the boiler it serves!

2. It will leak

3. Yes, if it serves a gas appliance"

"They go brittle over time, but should be OK unless it's leaking."

"Condensate pipes are durable plastic and will only need replacing if damaged or blocked( usually get frozen in coldest winter)
Can be replaced by any plumber after certain distance from boiler and larger diameter pipe would be recommended to alleviate blockages"
