Does turning router off slow your internet down?

I've been turning my router off when I'm not using the internet to save money but since then my internet speed seems slow. Is turning the router off the cause?

"No. A good system reboot does it good but not everyday"

"Hi no it won’t make it slower but it’s not good to do every day and won’t save you much money"

"Rebooting your router will not give you a faster Internet speed — not permanently anyway, but it can improve your Internet speed, in a way. While your actual internet connection speed will not be affected by WiFi interference, the bandwidth to and from your laptop and other wireless devices may be reduced dramatically"

"It will depend on provider but can take up to 12 hours after powering up to reach full speed again so yes, that will be the issue. Whilst times are difficult the amount of energy the router uses is negligible so I’d be leaving it on."

"Hi for the router to receive updates it needs to be on at all times also the line is monitored when it is switched off there system thinks the line is unstable and can restict speeds to determine if there is a fauld"

"Turning off your router should not have any long-term impact on your internet speed or performance. However, if you find that your internet connection is consistently slow or unreliable, it may be due to other factors, such as a weak wireless signal or issues with your internet service provider. In these cases, you may need to troubleshoot your network or contact your internet service provider for assistance."

"I wouldn’t turn it off. Every time you turn it on it needs to reconnect and authenticate which will delay you getting a connection. If you have any smart devices like tv, satellite, cameras, lights, heating, alarm you are disconnecting them too."
