Does a washing machine need special care/upkeep?

Do you need to take steps to clean a washing machine or does it maintain itself effectively?

"While washing machines do clean clothes, they also require regular maintenance to prevent mold, mildew, and odors. Periodically cleaning the washing machine, particularly the detergent drawer, door seal, and drum, can help maintain its efficiency and extend its lifespan. Additionally, running a hot water cycle with vinegar or a washing machine cleaner can help remove built-up residue and bacteria."

Washing machine does not maintain itself, instead, it harbors a lot of germs if not washed regularly.

how to wash it in steps:

1. pure 1 cup of white vinegar in an open dishwasher safe coffee, cup add a dish washing liquid soap on a soap compartment inside the dish washer and run it on a heated circle for like 1 hour and it will be fine.
2. Open and remove the filter and clean it with baking powder and soap.
3. rinse it and it is good to go"

"Hi not necessary I would say its need a maintenance to break down stone build up there are some special tablets for it they only needed once or twice a month as they quiet expensive. Most important part it's to keep the filter clean depending on usage this can block quiet quickly same as washing machine difference is the type of waste build up in those filters .usually the best is to clean filler manually however they are some special cleaning agents that they breaking down the build up saving unpleasant cleaning doing this manually however those are quiet pricy so if you considering having a washing machine and have the same one long term then follow those options . Hopefully that's the answers you looking for
Kind regards"

"Yes once a month run your washing machine with an empty load, on the highest setting (hot wash) use a washing machine cleaner or bleach and mold remover. Also clean the drawer to the washing machine, cleaning out any built up soap power and residue. Also open the valve on the bottom of the machine to remove and debris"

"Yes of need to do it at least monthly in a hot long wash with special washing machine cleaner or with soda crystals and vinegar. Also it is important to wash the soap compartment regularly."
