Do alarms have hidden fees?

Hi. Are there any added/hidden fees with alarm systems that I should watch out for? In what cases are they most likely to apply, like based on the system type etc.?

"Service / Server fees shouldn't be hidden. But There's usually an annual fee for lifetime healthcare & online servers. In our case; The charge is £85 per year for an annual health check & the mobile app server. These aren't mandatory but alarms do require upkeep."

"Hello, yes you can find hidden fees with alarm systems like to enable the use of smartphone app monitoring services and notifications

Best to ask the installer who is installing the product/ alarm before installation to find out the hidden costs on their system as all systems and configurations are different"

"Hi with any system installed you should only pay the quoted fee, if you have and extras added of course a fee would apply, your installer should pay all the fees out for you and that’s what you should pay unless a monthly monitoring fee is added but you should be aware of this"

"I can only speak for ourselves in the respect that all fees should be highlighted and broken down in your quotation. Some alarms do have ongoing fees however this is dependant upon ongoing services such as monitoring."

"Hi Greg,

Most of us engineers will give you fees when we survey and quote for the job. The only extra fees you may have to pay in future is a yearly service which costs around £80. Once a service has been completed if no parts or batteries need replacing then it's just the £80 fee. If things need to change over, then we would discuss a price with you on the day depending on what needs changing."
