"Yes, it’s doable — a plumber can move the radiator to the outside of the new stud wall.
💷 Cost (UK): about £150–£350, or up to £600 if pipework is tricky."

"Yes this can be done depending on the size of the wall and if your reusing the rad can be anything for £350+ including the materials for the stud wall"

"What’s involved in moving a radiator:

1. Plumbing adjustments

The hot water pipes feeding the radiator will need to be rerouted to the new location.

The pipework may have to go through walls, floor, or along the new stud wall.

A qualified plumber is usually needed, especially for a wet central heating system.

2. Stud wall installation

When you build the wall under the stairs, consider space for pipework behind it.

Make sure the wall is structurally sound and wide enough to accommodate pipes and insulation if needed.

3. Heating system balance

Moving the radiator may require bleeding and balancing the system afterward to ensure even heating in the house.

4. Electrical considerations (if applicable)

If the radiator is electric, you may need an electrician to relocate the power supply safely.

5. Alternative options

Build a cavity in the stud wall: sometimes you can leave the radiator in place and recess it slightly into the wall to save space.

Underfloor heating: for a more extensive renovation, moving away from traditional radiators is another option—but more costly."
