Choosing driveway gates

What types of driveway gates are suitable for different driveway types, sizes, designs, etc.? How can I tell what will suit mine?

"For free standing gates either timber or iron are ok, you can either fix them to post or brick pillars which then the cost will rise, if your looking at electric gates the price and style will increase significantly"

"If you have an electric gate you will need walls ideally, also the cost will rise."

"Iron or timber gates look great if manufactured correctly, things to remember are if you have a gradient on your driveway which will effect the look and design compared to a level driveway.
