  • finishing Tyrolean render coat

So i'm trying to match the tyrolean finish as close as possible on my house. The render has been completely removed on one side of the house and scratch coat has been applied with a 3/1 ratio. I'm looking at buying some of the tyrolean mix that goes with water to try it but can it be applied directly on the scratch coat or does it need a top coat first? If i mix my own tyrolean could i put that straight onto the scratch coat or will i need another coat either way? I'm seeing mixed messages regarding whether it can be applied directly onto the scratch coat or if a topcoat needs to be applied. Thanks for any advice.

    Hairline ceiling crack

Noticed a hairline crack in a bedroom ceiling, dad, very elderly, says it has been there for years. Heating not always on even in cold weather. Think polyfilla would do the job and it needs to be done, am I right. Thanks. Podge

Blown Plaster - 1930s Build Lime Plaster

Blown Plaster in 1930s built property, is gypsum plaster compatible with lime and cement mixed plastered walls, plaster seems to be blown on external walls on isolated areas on one part of each external wall only, is this due to moisture affecting gypsum plaster used at some point in specific areas only, as the grey lime plastered areas are fine?

Unfortunately I had a plasterer do a terrible job dry walls following a renovation. I am bringing in another plasterer to put right who wants to do two further finishing plaster coats… should I be concerned about the weight on the ceiling of the plaster??
