Carpet installer experience

Ideally, how many years of experience should a carpeting installer have at a minimum if I am to hire them? I just want to know that I’m ensuring the best job possible?

"Decent carpet fitter needs 5 years minimum. Even then he won't know every aspect I've been a carpet fitter for thirty years and still don't know everything ."

"To be honest with you everyone is different. Some have natural skill and others have to work harder to attain that a higher skill level. My aptitude has allowed me to excel very quickly and by the age of 18 I was being sent to rectify jobs done by fitters with ten years experience over me. There is also the issue of transferable skill sets. i know from experience that anyone who can wrap or tint a car has the skill set to fit flooring. the only difference is the product and where its being applied."
