Do grippers need to be replaced when fitting new carpet?

"No. Unless the spikes are flattened although most carpet shops advise new underlay and gripper when buying a new carpet as sometimes the guarantee of the carpet is subject to this."

"not unless they are a mess but if you do not mind replacing then is not to much extra and also not much extra work for installer"
