Can I screw into a wall with tiles on the other side?

I want to put a towel rail on the bathroom wall but on the other side of that wall is the bath with tiled surrounds. Is it safe to put screws through without cracking the tiles?

"You didn’t say how thick the wall is and/or the type of wall (breeze block, cavity wall etc,, ) or how strong the wall is for you to ask the question..,Based in the limited information given, as long as there is no hammering involved, installing the towel rail on the average bathroom wall with tiles on the other side is be fine.."

"If you have right tools and drill then you can do it without any damages"

"Yes, you can — but you need to be careful how you do it.
If there are tiles on the other side of the wall, it usually means you’re dealing with a plasterboard stud wall or a solid wall with tiles fixed to it.
A few things to consider:
If it’s a stud wall, make sure you’re not screwing straight through into the tiles — you risk cracking them. Use the correct fixings and keep your depth controlled.
If it’s a solid wall (brick/block), drill carefully and don’t go too deep.
Always use the right wall plugs/fixings for the weight you’re hanging.
Avoid areas where there may be pipes or cables, especially in bathrooms/kitchens.
If you’re unsure, it’s always best to get a tradesperson to have a quick look 👍"

"Hi
Two things
If your tiles are porcelain you will need a diamond drill bit , preferably one with a wax core you can purchase these online this doesn’t require water to cool the bit as the wax core keeps bit lubricated . Secondly if it’s a ceramic tile you can drill with a tungsten carbide bit but make sure it’s a new one . As a tip put masking tape on the tile so it doesn’t slip when you start to drill . Once you have the depth drilled correctly make sure that when you put the plug in the wall that it goes deeper than the tile as when the screw expands the plug it could and will crack the tile . I normally tap the screw into the plug until it’s below the back surface of the tile . I hope that makes sense
Have a great day 😊👌"

"It depends..
How thick is the wall
How big are the wall plugs & how long the screws.
Depends if the wall is Brick, if the wall is soft block, or if is plasterboard stud.

Make sure you don't hit any pipes wires when drilling etc.
Good luck mate"
