Ask your QuestionIs it feasible for an average DIYer to install a sliding window or should I really leave this to a professional?

Answered on 14th Jun 2022 - Member since Jun 2022 - report"It may seem a simple task on the outside however there are a lot of things to consider while designing and installing even a simple window and as you are not aware of the issues that may arise you will find this very difficult to fit and work correctly.
I would not advise this for DIY unless you are willing to spend again to correct your mistakes should they arise, this could cost you double anyway and you would have saved nothing and waited time also."
"Hi I have many years experience in the industry and unless you are very good at diy I wouldn’t attempt it a lot of my work is putting right diy windows and doors it would cost you half as much ch to get put right as fitting properly

"You could if you have fit windows before you need to get them perfectly level and square for the sliders to work"

Few things to consider.
- Robust substructure
- Window must be installed straight and level.
- Suitable fixings
- Suitable insulation around the window frame (Low modulus silicone, colour as desired."
