"Red Cedar is incredibly durable, reported to last eighty years with no treatment but it is also very expensive and very soft so, as a door, will soon show marks due to bangs and scrapes.
For an internal door, the best material is tulip wood, (although also quite soft), red deal or sapele
For external doors, Sapele, Meranti, or Oak"

"Hi there. In terms of aesthetics and durability it’s a great choice.
But cedar has a tendency to twist or warp if it has not been seasoned correctly.
Sealing the door as promptly as possible can avoid too much movement and preserve its shape."

"Internal or External Western Red Cedar is a good choice.
check to see if its solid or just a veneer.
If its solid, quality is always worth paying for.
I would finish it a premium coatings."
