Single water supply into a block of 4 flats

I have just bought a top floor flat in a Victorian building that can been converted into 4 flats. My builder found that there is only one water supply to the whole building, rather than to each flat. I have found that because of this, my water will constantly shut off (I’m assuming this is when someone else in the building is using the water). Is there anything that I can do about this?!

Thanks in advance,

Jo

"3 options.
Install individual water supplies to each flat.
Or
Increase the diameter of the single mains in the property and tee off to each property..
For example. A 32mm main riser and 15mm tee off to each property...
Both are not small jobs. And the second option would depend on the flow rate of the water as it is.
At the moment you may have a single 15mm pipe or 22mm pipe feeding every property..

The 3rd option would consist of some water storage like the DAB E.SYBOX and Tank (copy and paste that in google)
Sadly it takes up room and heavy. but they do smaller options, this would give you water storage of your own and other flats using water would not affect you as you would have your own storage...

Thanks

"You can contact your water supplier and check to see if it's possible to get another water supply fitted, this should solve the issue. Many thanks, Nadir"

"I WOULD SPEAK TO YOUR LOCAL WATER SUPPLIER REGARDING MAYBE HAVING ANOTHER WATER MAIN PUT IN, OR HAVING A PLUMBER ATTEND AND SPLIT THE MAIN AND HAVE 4 SEPARATE STOP VALVE SO THAT EACH FLAT CAN BE CONTROLLED"

"Hi Jo.
Yes, this sounds like you are losing flow when your block has demand. The only way to solve this would be for you to have your own independent supply."

"Hi.
You are losing flow of water because of the demand for the water in your block at one time. Have a chat with your water supplier and see if they will be able to give you your own separate supply. Hope that helps."

"It sounds like the flats are being fed by the original water main which was designed for 1 household and not 4. When the property was converted into flats the size of the water main should have been increased. The question I would be asking is why was this not picked up on your survey as this could be costly to correct."
