Can a magnetic filter bring down heating bills and if so, by how much on average?

"In theory yes, but they only catch so much. If the system is dirty it will be inefficient and needs flushed"

"Boiler magnetic filter just protects boiler heat exchange prolonging the life of your boiler."

"Not enough that you would notice a difference alone.
The filter would enable your system water to run cleaner, the benefits would be no sludge build up which in turn the system would run more efficiently.

However just installing a filter without flushing the system correctly and setting the system up correctly, balancing the radiators, setting the Thermostatic valves to the correct room temperatures, ensuring flow and return temperatures at the boiler are correct and that the boiler is condensing and not wasting unnecessary heat.
Carrying out correct maintenance is very overlooked in the industry as a lot of so called engineers have no real understanding of the system, usage and possibilities and would rather switch on and leave."

"It can help system performance in a lot of cases, but individually installing a mag filter will not slash your heating / DHW bills.
Many factors can be detrimental to the system performance and a good heating engineer would be able to explain how best to improve your system."

"A magnetic filter will help keep your system clean, and this will help the efficiency, which in turn will reduce your gas usage. It would be impossible to quantify by how much, but overall these filters are well worth fitting, as apart from the efficiency aspect, they also help prolong the boiler`s life."

"Can help reduce bills as will remove sludge deposits in your heating circuit but if rads are old and also system heavily sludged may not make a huge difference .so really all dependant of water quality and age of radiators"

"Magnafilters keep a heating system clean by removing debris so will aid in a having a more heat efficient system.

Also great for keeping working components from being damaged or broken by filtering debris from a system.

Having cleaned numerous filters in my time I can tell you they work and are very helpful"
