How can I make sure I don't set off false alarms?

What steps can be taken to ensure that I don’t set off false alarms? It seems to happen a lot; a windy night alone can set the alarm off! Maybe I need a new one, what do you think?

"Hi, depending on what device is going off you could need a certain type of detector. If you need any more in-depth advice please contact us via email. Thanks James."

"The alarm firstly needs to be programmed to suit your needs correctly.
Having the correct pir fitted also could help this, pet-friendly ones etc
The wind setting the alarm off points towards the external siren not being fitted properly and the wind is activating the tamper( it thinks somebody is tampering/opening it)"
