"Safest way is either warm running water on it or a hairdryer"

"first turn off the water supply to it, then use gentle, indirect heat like a hairdryer, hot water bottles, or towels soaked in warm (not boiling) water, starting from the inside pipe and working outwards to melt the ice safely, then slowly turn the water back on and check for leaks."

"Slowly warm the frozen part of the pipe up.
A hot towel or warm water is the easiest way.
Inwojld reccomend getting it lagged"

"Yeah warm not boiling water but to future proof have if possible some sort of isolation valve so this can be turned off in the colder months as well as possibly an insulated hood for the tap which will help"

"To start I just wanna say avoid using any fire/open flames like a lighter or blow torch as you could either melt or crack the pipework depending on what plumbing is done

I'd recommend turning off the water supply to that tap if possible. This reduces pressure in case the pipe bursts or has already split, then open the tap and warm it gently, wrap the tap and any exposed pipe with a warm towel or use something like a hairdryer or heat gun on a low to medium setting. Keep the heat moving along the pipe (don’t concentrate it in one spot) and just patiently wait for the frozen water to melt"

"Hi best way to defrost your outside is to boil water in kettle and pour hot water over the tap a few times with the tap open and invest in insulated cover for your outside tap"

"Best option is to isolate the outside tap if it’s expected to freeze. However gently heating the pipework will work."
