hiring a heating engineer in Liverpool

Question

I am based in Liverpool and I’d like to hire a heating engineer to sort out a radiator. Basically, the issue is that it's cold in different spots. How much will it likely cost to hire a professional to come out and fix this problem? Is it likely to be a small issue or might it be more serious? Any of your thoughts/advice on the matter would be greatly appreciated as the more I know/have in mind before hiring anyone, the easier everything could be.

I agree with Marc, if the radiators are old, even after power flushing won't clear out the sludge from the radiators as it jammed between fins. These days radiators are fairly cheap to buy if you shop around. This is the good time to sort out your heating problems. Good Luck!

Heating Engineer on a day rate would do it for about £150 for day

If your radiator is really old it won’t clean or flush. It would be cheaper to buy a new radiator of the same size, as this will work out cheaper in the long run thanks

It depends on the other radiators, if there ok then there could just be air in that one, if it is not air then there could be a blockage or sludge in the system, which may require some cleansing. If you have had the annual service then you should have been told, that it requires cleansing from time to time with chemicals If you have a combination boiler the pressure may be to low. I would charge £50 to come and have a look initially to my customers and if not repair there and the diagnosis will be made and the way forward.

Is it an old system? If it is it's usually related to sludge in the system especially if you haven't got a magnatec filter.  I would suggest getting the system flushed out. This will cost in the region of £300 to 400.
