Cistern's cracked and leaking into the pan. Rough price for a plumber to swap it, parts and labour?

"Hi Abdul

This is usually straightforward, the only possible issues are if the Cistern is built in behind a wall or in a cabinet without access panels.

to replace a standard Low Level Close Coupled Cistern you need the cistern, it won't necessarily exactly match the style of the original, but it will fit and work, if the cistern is close coupled meaning it sits on the back of the pan, then in addition you will need a new pan seal or Donut as we call it, and a cistern coupling kit both of these will only add about £10.00 to the cost, the cistern is usually around £40.00.

If the Toilet is a Low Level or High Level with a visible flush pipe at the rear the job is actually a little easier, and the cost for parts much the same.

Call out charge £75.00

Hourly Rate £25.00

Hope this helps"

"Depends if spares available between £150-200 if not new toilet plus futting

New toilet (supplied and fitted)

* Budget: £250–£350
* Mid-range £350–£550
* Premium: £550–£1,000+

If your current cistern is cracked and the toilet is more than 10–15 years old, replacing the whole toilet can sometimes be better value than trying to source a matching replacement cistern."

"It will cost £150 including labour and parts as you would have to buy a complete toilet. The cistern cannot be sold on its own"
