Should I get an electric door lock?

Hi there! Should I have an electric door lock installed? What are the pros and cons? Will the door remain unopenable during a power outage or what would happen during this scenario? Thanks :)

"Hi Catherine, most electric door locks had a small Hub battery to supply power to the lock in case of a power cut, and can be locked and unlocked as normal. There were issues with some early ones but new ones seem pretty good.
It really depends on the features you are after, I have recently seen a keyless option where you connect it to the properties WiFi and the owner can set and change the entry code remotely, which I think is great if you rent the property for holidays etc.. you just text the code to the next person.. or you can just lock someone out !!"

"Hi Catherine,

You can have a door lock and in case of power failure there will be a battery back so no need to worry about power failure

As well as there is a setting on the system where poer is only required to open the door in the event of failure of electricity, the door will remain closed

I hope thus answers your enquiry

Feel free to ask if it's not clear

Kind regards
Dawit"
