Find Bathroom Specialists Near You
The amount a bathroom fitter charges will differ due to several reasons, but roughly they’ll cost between £180 to £280 per day and £30 to £60 per hour.
Your location will play a part in their fee, as bathroom installers charge more in the South of the country than in the North.
Whom you hire will also affect the labour cost, as large bathroom companies usually charge more than a sole trader bathroom specialist.
Lastly, the job’s size, complexity and time it takes to complete will all affect the overall cost. For example, fitting a new bathroom will cost more than installing a shower on its own.

When hiring a bathroom specialist, you want to hire a reliable and trustworthy contractor, but how can you check for this?
Many bathroom fitters complete an apprenticeship. This helps them gain experience and knowledge with on-the-job training. It’s worth checking if a bathroom fitter has any qualifications too. Such as diplomas in plumbing, fitted interiors and bathroom installation.
Being part of an accreditation body is also a sign of a competent bathroom fitter. For example, the British Institute of Kitchen, Bedroom & Bathroom Installation (BiKBBi) is a government-sanctioned association where its members are vetted and monitored to ensure they’re working to the best of their ability.
Find a bathroom fitter
A bathroom fitter is responsible for designing bathroom layouts and installing any units and fixtures, such as baths, sinks, toilets and showers.
You may be asked for an initial deposit to secure the work date and materials, but you should never pay in full until the work is completed.
A new bathroom can cost anywhere between £1000 to £10,000. It depends on the quality of fixtures and fittings, the size of the bathroom and the type of decorating materials you choose. On average, it’s around £4000 for a standard new bathroom.
A light-coloured gloss tile is best for a small bathroom, and it’ll make the space look bigger and brighter.
For a brand new bathroom, it'll take between 3 to 5 days for a full installation.
You can fit a bathroom yourself, but leaving it to the professionals is recommended as it will be quicker and done to a higher standard.
A bathroom installer should have public liability insurance. This will protect everyone involved and your property if anything goes wrong.
You must tile first before fitting a bathroom suite to have a higher-quality finish and a better chance against water damage.
