Repair Wet Room Tile And Grout
Stefan came along and did some tiling work as agreed- I was happy with this and the job included redoing the seal around the showering area. Once this sealant was done I left it for 5 days to cure. After using the wet room for three weeks I noticed gaps starting to form around the sealant. This was a huge concern for me because the previous sealant that was laid down 12 years ago had not come away from the wall and all that time it was just old and needed replacing for aesthetic purposes. When I contacted Stefan about this, I questioned whether he had removed the old ceiling before installing a new sealant and he said he had not removed the old sealant. He claimed he had told me he was going to install it over the old sealant, but that was actually a lie. When I suggested that he repaired this, he actually asked me to remove all of the sealant and to buy new sealant and then he said he would redo it for free. He said that if he had to remove the old sealant, he would charge me another £150. I thought this was disgraceful and if he had done a professional job in the first place, we wouldn’t be having this conversation. So I was very unhappy about him wanting to charge me for a second time for doing a job again that he should’ve done properly in the first . Anyhow, as mentioned in fairness the tiling work he did was good but the whole approach and attitude to the issue of poor workmanship was very unprofessional and his lack of accountability means that I would not use his services again. So I now have to pay once again to have the sealant work done again - nobody wants to pay twice right ?
