Slate Roof and Chimney Repairs Needed
Paid £2,800 in full — no guarantee certificate, then asked for £650 more I hired Dan through MyJobQuote to repair the rear slate roof at my property in Milford Haven. The quote was sent by WhatsApp: £2,800, with the job expected to take 2 days. He arrived on 22 July, said the work was done within about 2 hours, and was paid the full £2,800 in cash on the day by a family member. He promised a written guarantee certificate for the work but hasn't provided one. On [date], he asked for a further £650 for materials and said he couldn't issue the certificate unless this was paid. The materials weren't raised as an extra when he quoted. I've also not received an invoice or photos of the work, so I can't confirm what was carried out. I've tried to contact him many times since 22 July 2026 without a satisfactory response. My advice to other customers: get the full scope, what's included and the guarantee terms in writing before the job, and don't pay in full until you have the paperwork. I'll update this review if the certificate and an invoice are provided.
