Garden Cleanup and Maintenance Services
Very poor and unacceptable experience with M&B. The garden was outgrown due to poor tenant maintenance, and rubbish was left behind. All of this was shown in‑person to M&B’s representative, and a price was agreed based on the full scope of work. On the first day, the main team arrived extremely late after 3:30pm instead of agreed 10am, causing a major delay to the start of the job. They had broken grass cutter and power washer, spending most of their time trying to fix their tools. They were unskilled, struggled to remove even basic moss and stains, and we had to teach them how to power wash properly. They even sprayed water into our living room, soaking the wooden flooring overnight. Several areas — front entrance, garden entrance, sideways, garden steps and rocks — were left incomplete or poorly cleaned, and loose grass was left scattered across the garden despite repeated reminders. Although weeding was part of the agreed job, the team initially denied it and only completed it on the last day after repeated insistence. We had to micro‑manage basic tasks, including reminding them to empty bins — even at the last minute, otherwise they would have left them full. They asked us to buy drinks and food time to time on first day and we had to tell them to come prepared. They showed no dedication, started late, finished early, and took four days instead of the agreed two to three. They took the rubbish three times in a van, but the van was already half full most trips, and the total rubbish from our property was only around 1 to 1.5 van loads. We even offered valuable tyres for free, as he was very interested in them. Despite this, they still charged extra for a small amount of additional garage rubbish. Despite several gaps and poor workmanship, we only negotiated for a £100 reduction, which was extremely reasonable. Even then, Michael from M&B refused, and instead threatened us over phone and WhatsApp, saying he would “put the rubbish back into the house” if we didn’t pay in full. Atleast the team he sent were unskilled and not efficient but this behaviour was an unacceptable serious misconduct. We paid the full amount and have reported the incident to the police. I cannot recommend M&B.
