Terrible traders, still awaiting a refund on my money for a job that was never completed. I was contacted and quoted by Matthew to do the floor in our bathroom and cloakroom. We paid a 50% upfront deposit for the materials at a discounted rate. The first day that the job was scheduled, the delivery of tiles was delayed as the supplier had an incident. We rescheduled for the next day to give the tiles time to arrive in the morning. Last message we had from Matthew was that he had set off and I never heard from him again. The tiles never arrived. I’ve been in contact with a person called Matt to get a refund which, over a month later I am yet to receive. I’ve provided the info for a refund to Matt and chase after chase I’ve not heard from them again. Matthew is back and well posting on LinkedIn and not a word of apology or my money. Do not book with them.

I paid Matthew £250 for tiles then never saw him again. Over the course of 2 months he told me his van broke down, that he had pneumonia (I was initially patient and sympathetic in relation to both), that he would drop the tiles off so someone else could do the job (then repeatedly did not show up), that he would have a colleague he ‘trusted’ do the tiling instead (who also failed to show up). Finally, he said, “I’m not even doing that job anymore”, whilst simultaneously advertising for an apprentice on Linked In due to his ‘expanding business’. After this Matthew stopped communicating altogether. I contacted MyJobQuote.co.uk for help, who advised me that Matthew said to them I could collect the tiles from him myself. This is problematic considering that Matthew will not communicate in order to make the arrangements and even if he did, as I do not own a van I would need to risk losing more money by arranging delivery of the tiles there is no guarantee I would get back from him. I suggest you do not ask TRL tiling to undertake tiling for you unless you are happy to risk both losing your money and wasting your time.

Both Matthew and his partner were fantastic! Their communication prior to the job was outstanding and the work they carried out looks great. We couldn’t be happier with our hallway flooring. 10/10 would recommend these guys, super professional and speedy workers.
