About
The Rock and the Butterfly has been in operation for the last 3 years, offering gardening and handy man services.
The approach is geared towards ensuring no matter how big or small the task the appropriate amount of respect, effort and professionalism will always be applied to your task.
The service includes offering landscaping and handyman services such as laying slabs or putting up flat packed items such wardrobes and cupboards and also shelves and curtains.
As this is a professional service, speed or lowered costs, will not be prioritised, neither will anything that compromises, the quality of the experience or job, for example:
The price of a job will never be controlled by a customer - this is because for every request a customer makes, an action must be performed, so if we make a plan, and you change the plan, the cost will fall on you. For example, if it is a garden job, and you desire waste removal, the waste will be calculated at the end of the job, as waste prices are dictated by weight, and can be checked ahead of time, so you will be charged ahead of time for any service you require and then you will be charged for any subsequent work before it is completed.
You cannot and I will not accept jobs, where the client dictates the terms or price, because then the costs may outweigh the pay, I charge fairly and competitively as it is, for example, a client has a garden job, wants waste removal included, but sets the total price at £250, including waste, so i bid and win, then arrive to one full day of cutting, plus waste, for 1 tonne of waste it costs approximately £250 to dispose it properly and the licence to do so also costs money, so we're at negative £250, and that doesn't even cover all the costs.
As a professional service provider, everything is already costed to provide competitive rates, so the best thing to do would be to ask how "could I save some money", and I would be able to advise you e.g. the local dump in your borough will not charge you for waste, can you hire a vehicle or a driver, because if you leave it to me (my preference), the experience of having everything taken care of comes with business waste services provided at business waste prices, but these services are also available for free to local residents (in certain volumes)
So in conclusion, I do not create the costs, I merely comply with them, and that means you will too, because if you had any alternatives, you would use them.
My rates are typically between 20-30 per hour, this covers the logistics of moving labour and tools from A to B and B to A, any change to these prices is negotiable at my discretion, and no matter the job, because that's where my guarantee on quality comes from, if you want professional service and professional quality you have to pay professional prices and it all starts with not trying to negotiate or set prices without an understanding of the cost of them being provided to you.
