I am not sure that I would have given Craig any stars had I known about what I found out a few weeks after he had "finished" his work. One of the door handles, all of a sudden, began to rattle and it felt that it would come off. I messaged Craig about this and he replied that it was nothing to worry about and that the handle itself would not fall off. He promised a number of times to come to my house to fix the problem but each time he cancelled. Then after another few weeks the inevitable happened. The handle fell off. When I looked I was surprised that the handle had only been fixed to the door with 3 or 4 tiny screws. There were two bigger openings on the handle which to me indicated that bolts should be put through these to link to the handle on the other side of the door. As that had not been done it would be only a matter of time before they all fall off. Interestingly, a couple of the doors do have one of these bolts through them! So this makes it clear that Craig knew what to do but still just cut corners and didn't bother to fit all the door handles correctly. I spent thousands of pounds, paid every single bit of money owed to Craig, yet he still did not do his work properly. On top of everything, some of the doors do not shut properly and a number of them squeak. To make matters worse, the handle which fell off is for one of my children's bedrooms. And a few nights ago, one of my kids got trapped in their room. It took me nearly half an hour to free my child from their room. When I messaged Craig about this he didn't even apologise. Craig mentioned that he is looking after his ill mum now and I have every sympathy for him. I mean that. But, I would not have been in this predicament had Craig carried out his work correctly in the first place (months ago now) or if he had come back and fixed the issues within a few weeks of installation. I feel sorry for the situation Craig is in at the moment but hope that at some point he will come back and fix things. Craig installed 9 doors for me at my house. I specifically asked for "solid core " doors. He quoted his price on this assumption and ordered the doors and handles himself. I took him at face value as the first time I met him he showed me a card which indicated that he was a member of some trade organisation (I can't remember if he said he was a Master Joiner or something like that). I paid him for materials upfront. And then he insisted on being paid for his labour on a daily basis. So this way he made sure he got all his money but knowingly cut corners when working for me. Trust is a BIG thing for me however I feel that Craig has abused my trust and let me down. Based on my experience, I won't have Craig doing anymore projects for me

Craig is a very skilled and competent joiner and tidy too. He made some great cost saving suggestions which have enhanced the look of my hall. He has a good design eye and offers great ideas and suggestions. He provided photos and explained how he has achieved the look and how it would apply in my home. Craig is a very good communicator and keeps you informed of costing and provides proper invoicing. On top of that he is a nice person. Do not hesitate to use Craig you won't regret it.

Craig contacted first thing, measured and fitted doors that afternoon. Excellent service. Nothing was too much trouble. Very reliable and excellent workmanship.

Craig fitted our new laminate floor in the hall, bedroom and living room of our small flat He worked diligently and quoted a very competitive price for the work. I would have no hesitation in recommending Craig of Stag Carpentry and Joinery to anyone. Craig also collected the laminate, underlay and edging from the company we’d ordered them from. However Craig explained that he could have sourced the exact same materials for us for a much reduced price. Also I had made a few mistakes in measuring so Craig had to get extra materials. Craig advised that it is always best to let the joiner measure the job and source the materials and I’d do this in the future and would recommend anyone else to do so too.
