I am submitting this formal review to document my experience with *Roberts GRP Roofing*, operated by *Idris Roberts*, following significant and ongoing issues relating to incomplete work, non‑delivery of paid‑for items, and persistent communication failures. *1. Incomplete Roofing Works* Roofing works commenced in *December 2024*, but despite partial progress, the job remains *unfinished* more than 15 months later. Essential elements, including the installation of ridge tiles, have not been completed. Throughout 2025 and early 2026, multiple dates were agreed for continuation of the work; however, Mr. Roberts repeatedly failed to attend, often without notice or explanation. *2. Non‑Supply of Paid‑For Door and Window* On *17 December 2024*, Mr. Roberts provided a quotation of *£1,860* for the supply and installation of a new front door and window, which I accepted. Payments were made in instalments — including *£700 on 19 December 2024*, with further payments in *January and February 2025* — totalling several thousand pounds across the project. Despite assurances that the items had been ordered and would arrive in *January 2025*, they have *never been supplied or installed*. Further commitments made in *January 2026*, stating installation would occur in February, were also not honoured. *3. Repeated Missed Appointments* Between *December 2024 and March 2026*, Mr. Roberts repeatedly: - Failed to attend on agreed dates - Cancelled at short notice or without notice - Provided assurances such as “I will be there tomorrow” or “definitely this week,” which were not fulfilled This pattern has been consistent and has significantly delayed progress. *4. Poor and Unreliable Communication* Communication has been persistently inadequate. There have been numerous occasions where: - Calls and messages went unanswered - Promised updates were not provided - Extended periods passed with no contact unless I initiated it This has caused considerable inconvenience and has hindered any attempt to resolve matters amicably. *5. Impact* As a result of the above: - The roofing work remains incomplete, leaving the property potentially vulnerable to damage - The door and window, which have been fully paid for, have not been delivered - Significant time and effort have been spent attempting to obtain updates and secure completion - The situation has remained unresolved for *over 15 months* *Conclusion* Based on my experience, I must record that the service provided by *Roberts GRP Roofing* has been unsatisfactory, with substantial delays, non‑delivery of paid‑for items, and a consistent failure to meet agreed commitments.

I found Idris Roberts to be very helpful and constructive in his advice. The new glass, door and window locks, handles, letterbox and general maintenance, all carried out efficiently and without any debris or mess for me to clear up when I returned home. Job of replacing gutters and facia boards commenced 11/11/25. He requested upfront payment of £800 for material (paid). Then wanted more 2 days later and was paid full amount anoyher £1000 cash. Since then he has not returned even after promising to do so, several times. After 3 months living with silence and false promises I have had to employ another Builder to complete the work at more costs. This is NO WAY to treat 2 sick nearly 80 yrs. Pensioners so BEWARE

We and Idris agreed to a contract to repair our leaking chimney /roof in November 2024. After 6 months of no work and after Idris stopped answering my texts asking when work would be done, I complained to myjobquote. Idris then attended in June 2025 to complete one element of the work which didn’t repair the leak. Then all of summer passed and no more work completed; in November I asked him if he plans on completing the work as we had water coming in still. He would turn up, talk about what needed doing then we wouldn’t see him. He tried to tell us our tyvek was incorrectly installed despite photographic evidence it was in fact installed correctly. He put a sheet over our chimney, promised he would get the work done by Christmas, and by now we had damage in the fireplace and bedroom ceiling from the leak not being repaired and water coming in. He promised he would make this right after fixing the roof leak. Christmas came and went, he didn’t turn up as promised. Didn’t answer my text asking why. I have many many texts over the 13 months where he’s promised to do the work in the next fortnight but it never happened. I’ve asked more than once for our deposit back if he cannot/will not do the work. We’ve decided enough is enough, I complained to myjobquote and sent Idris letters terminating the contract due to his breach, he then texted me in a fortnight ago asking to come and do it…I said enough is enough he has had plenty of time and decent weather to do the work, I want my full deposit back because now we have to find someone reliable to fix the roof and we need to spend money now to fix the internal water damage. He accepted this, said he would sort it out ASAP and I’ve still not received my full deposit back. Very disappointing.

Idris’ work was excellent. He worked all day in terrible weather and completed the job to a high standard. He removed all waste from site. I would have rated Idris 5/5 but we had issues with attendance and communication. I’m glad it’s all resolved and the job was completed satisfactorily

Really helpful and explained everything, to make sure I knew what he was doing .very helpful and very tidy took all the rubbish.would highly recommend.

Very competent, reaonably priced, polite and do a very good job.

Hinges were badly corroded and couldn’t be dismantled. Idris wasn’t fazed by this and had to take an angle grinder to them. New hinges fitted and door now works perfectly. Would highly recommend Idris.

Waiting 4 months for Roberts Group to finish job. Cannot get any explanation from them. No communication. No receipt or invoice for money paid upfront. Where are they?

Idris’s is a really pleasant guy, explain everything he is doing clearly, & asks you for your thoughts on the work done ! A good job, very well done !
