Flat Roof
Tony from Kingswood Roofing attended my property to give a quote for repair to a flat roof, where water had come through the ceiling during the heavy downpour at night. After an assessment of the flat roof. It was decided by Tony that the whole roof needed re felting due to water damage . Tony, a smooth talker, very polite and virtually pleaded with me to give him a chance to do the work, I agreed because I was getting a guarantee for the work. Tony subcontracted the work to a roofer -Sam ,who was on a daily rate. Tony was trying to get him to finish the work in a day which was impossible . Sam was working so fast that he started to cut corners to get the job done. During that time I had to point out that he should have replaced the old wet timber for a new one and not covering it up with roof felt thinking I wouldn't notice. He did then change it causing him to waste a lot of time and effort. The job was completed early evening. Tony got his payment because I thought after having pointed out so many of their own problems the job would be done properly. I was wrong as the next day we had another heavy downpour and water came pouring down the ceiling again in the same area where the original issues were. This time Tony came with his brother and a guy called Dan came down to sort out the problem themselves. Their work was not up to standard. looked shoddy with all the patching up using cement and bits of felts. Now the whole roof look a mess. Very disappointing for me. Tony quoted me for some other small jobs which Dan, who is more conscientious than Tony did complete these little jobs my satisfaction. If anyone is going to use this company you need to keep an eye on them and making sure the work get done properly otherwise they would cut corners.

Fitting of 3 cowls adequately carried out as quoted/invoiced. Additional work replacing roof tiles at the same time was suggested but there was a misunderstanding over the second job quote. As a result there were difficulties over invoicing and payment on completion of the work.

Tony has been very helpful from the moment he reached out to me for the job. While examining the ridge to be repaired, Tony brought other issues to my notice and gave fair prices to get them repaired. His team went about their job quickly and cleanly.
