Fix Leaking Gutters
I thought they are going to complete the job properly. Our gutters were leaking front and back. We called the trade person to get free quote. They told that gutters need to be cleaned and fix any loose brackets. They just checked the front gutters with the ladder. We told him to check the back gutters as well but they didn’t check the back gutters and told it should be the same problem like the front one. They offered £220 to clean the gutters and fix any brackets if loose but it ended up with £500 including ridge tiles pointed. We asked him will it be stop leaking once you done this. He said yes 100% . When he’s about to finish the job we told him to put a new bracket for the back gutters. He said it doesn’t need a new bracket it will be perfectly fine. We requested him to fix new bracket again so he tried to fix a new bracket and then said your fascia is rotten. We asked will it leak even after you fix loose bracket. He said 100% it won’t leak again at least for a couple of years. Once the job has done we paid him £500 cash and once he got the money he’s told that there is 50/50 chance it can leak again. We were really disappointed. Then he left. After 3 days It started to leak again. We called him he came after a couple days and told that we have to change new fascia and gutters which we can’t afford anymore after spending £500 for no reason. Very disappointed. The money we spent £220 on gutters cleaning and fixing couple of loose brackets is completely unacceptable and waste. Other jobs for £280( ridge tiles pointed) is fine.

Replace Rotten Plywood Under Felt Roof
They contacted me within about 10 mins of the post, wanted to come the next morning. They did, wanting to do the job straightaway. I hesitated since I hadn't had an estimate, or other estimates, and the price they quoted was high. However, they seemed a nice enough crew (3 men) and it was convenient for me to get the job done straightaway, so I said yes. It took them all day to complete the job and I think they did a good one (tho I can't get up to see it, but the bit I can see looks well done and tidy). They told me that they responded so quickly because they had a big job starting Monday and had a couple of empty days. They now have one of the days filled because a neighbour has asked them to do some work.
