Repair and Extend Existing Paving
The job - repaving and pointing of existing paving (patio and paths) The first annoying thing was the times schedule changed every day. Originally, material delivery Friday, work on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. The on Thursday it chaanged, materials delivered Thursday, work starts Friday, Saturday and Sunday half-day. 2 hours completed on Friday. Nobody arrived Saturday - message at 13:00 - see you tomorrow. Sunday from 0800 - 1600. Monday arrived around 1200-1300. I am very certain that because of the constant time pressure, jumping from one job to another - the quality of the work is very poor. All of this paving job is substandard. The patio is not level. The work was done 90% complete, but the work that was done is not good. Somewhere between 35 - 40% of the work needs to be redone. The paving is not level, anywhere. The levels on the paths is just wrong. The door to my garage doesn't open properly anymore. One of the paths is not straight at all, inspite of guide strings being laid down. We agreed to put in a French drain. Then Kye decided to put in a plastic drain with a soak away. In the end, the soak away was never put in and the drain was partially just put in the ground and the lies started. We agreed that a step would be put in at the gate, when it was it a shockingly bad job, when I wanted it redone, Kye said he was not going to do it. There was one change that I made and changed it back after, Kye charged me more for it, I agreed. When I pointed out the failures, Kye became, defensive, agressive and rude. He refused to redo the bad work. Accused me of attempting to find false reasons not to pay. He accused me of trying to stael from him. I had to withhold payment just to get Kye to clear all the rubble from the garden - he was definately planning to leave all there. He has cleared it now, I will pay him to get rid of the problem. The work was 90% done, BUT the work was nver completed and the work that was completed is substandard. A shocking business to deal with. Do not hire "The Handy Team - Epsom", unless you want to pay twice. This is a group who absolutely do not care about good quality and they will never deliver it. This was a very simple job - almost no skill needed and yet still is a complete dodge job. Now, I have to either redo the work myself or find someone to redo it.
