Fix Roof Leak and Replace Tiles
I would strongly advise people to avoid Danny from GPD Roofing. Danny came out on Monday 26th January to carry out a roof repair, which involved installing new lead flashing. The job was supposed to be completed using lead sealant, but I was told that because the gaps left by the original roofer were too large, he would instead “point it in.” I have since realised this was likely chosen because it was the cheaper option, as using the correct amount of sealant would have been more expensive. Danny also agreed to replace broken tiles, but he did not change the ones near the skylight. He claimed he couldn’t access them, although it seemed more like he didn’t want to put in the extra work. Unfortunately, I had to leave for work before the job was finished and paid him without inspecting it. When I returned home, I noticed an obvious gap where the pointing had been missed. While mistakes can happen, this was very noticeable. On Saturday 31st January, we had our first rain since the repair, and the roof was still leaking. I contacted Danny, who replied quickly and said he would come out either that day or on Sunday. On Saturday afternoon, he confirmed he would “definitely” come on Sunday. On Sunday morning, he again confirmed he was coming and asked for photos, which I sent. After that, he stopped responding completely and did not turn up. When I got home, nothing had been done. On Monday morning, I messaged again with no response. I then called him, and he answered, saying he would come at lunchtime and asked for more photos, including external ones showing the exact leak points, which I sent. He never turned up and has since ignored all calls and messages over several days.
