Repair Floor Tiles and Pipe Leak
Quoted £200 to fix sink leak and replace 7 broken floor tiles. Initially he insisted a lower price and it be based on hrs of work rather than price work but we said no too risky rather just have one price for works. Therefore we agreed £200. Additional works was done - An extra 5 tiles to replace and replacing sink carcass base. As a result £150 EXTRA was paid just for the additional tasks. The grouting wasn’t done and as he worked into the night to complete the works, we accepted this simply because we felt he worked hard. However, a day later the outcome is, the sink still has a leak, the tiles weren’t grouted yet we paid the additional £150 so we expect a tradesman to happily come back and sort out the leak at minimum. He refuses, claims he should’ve been paid even more for the works despite not quoting before carrying out additional works. Therefore he won’t come back to sort leak. So we paid £350 to a plumber basically with the main concern of a leak and that plumber couldn’t sort the leak and refuses to come back to sort the leak. Wouldn’t use again. If you have any issues in future for his work, he’s unlikely to come back. There’s no guarantee on his work essentially. Unless you pay him to come back
FLOART & MORE LTDThank you for your review. I would like to clarify the scope of work and what took place for transparency. Before starting, I spent around two hours assessing the job and identifying the leak. We initially agreed a fixed price of £200 for replacing the kitchen tap/washer and removing and fitting 7 floor tiles (600 × 600 mm), which I estimated at around 8 hours of work. I began work the following morning at 7:00am. After isolating the water supply and removing the existing washer, the customer requested a full kitchen tap replacement, which was additional work. I also discovered water damage to the kitchen unit/carcass and replaced the affected section. Although the original agreement was for 7 tiles, further issues were uncovered during the job. In total, I ended up removing and replacing 21 tiles. I also strengthened the underlying wooden floor due to instability and cracked tiles, and applied silicone throughout the kitchen. The work continued until approximately 3:00am, totalling around 18 hours on site. Given the significant additional work and time involved, I requested £400, but ultimately received £350. Regarding the reported leak afterwards, I had already identified and explained the issue during my initial assessment. I was later asked to return and resolve it without further payment. My position was not a refusal to address workmanship, but that the additional work and time already carried out needed to be considered fairly rather than expecting further unpaid work. I am disappointed the situation has resulted in a negative review after completing substantially more work than originally agreed. I always aim to provide honest pricing and quality workmanship, and I remain open to discussing any genuine concerns directly.
Shower Grout and Sealant Replacement
Florin was very knowledgeable and honest about what work did and didn’t need doing. He was punctual and completed all the work in good time for a great price. I’m very happy with the resealing and cleaning work he did on my shower and kitchen sink.
