Electric Showers
Avoid! After receiving a reasonable and fair quotation from David Jenkins who had attended our rental property to review the job, it took over a week to complete this simple maintenance request. We even tried to help speed up the process by sourcing, supplying and delivering some of the required materials. Having done so, the price of the job has now risen from £290 to £700 and at no point was this price increase communicated to us until the final invoice was emailed and the work completed. When challenging David Jenkins on this, his response was that he was busy with other jobs and he was sorry for the misunderstanding and for not advising us of this huge price increase. This in my opinion is totally unacceptable and leaves me feeling that this has been deliberately engineered in order for him to profiteer. This situation has caused increased distress and a financial set back at a time when COVID has affected our own income. David Jenkins conduct we feel is not transparent, honest and in keeping with other tradesman who advertise on this website. We hope this doesn’t happen to anyone else, especially during the pandemic when people are at their most vulnerable.

David JenkinsA statement of fact that is not entirely true, which is a real shame as communication was good throughout the project, I always aim to ensure the customer is happy after work has been completed, and although that is the case with the tenants, Ms Ashwood’s comments show some discrepancies leading up to completed work, one of them is being aware of a fault discovered on removing the old shower door & the decision to apply wall panels to the enclosure rather than repair a section of wall with replacement tiles, and whilst keeping Ms Ashwood informed of a preassembled door required for the installation this was successfully sourced and fitted, any delay with the project was due to not being able to construct a non assembled door due to not enough room within the flat, this was an unfortunate delay, and reject comments of attempting to profiteer from the job, as explained the cost on the new door was unknown until less than 24 hours before being asked to complete the work by 4th December 2020, Ms Ashwood was aware of an increased cost before completion, and as far as I am aware the final completion of work is very satisfactory for the users ( Tenants)

Water Tanks and Immersion Heater
David was super quick to respond. He was very polite, asking questions to understand the work at hand. David gave a list of dates when he was available and set expectations. The new immersion heater arrived early and David shortly after. He was very polite, and very clean and tidy when working in the house. For the price, service and quality of work we will be using David again, and will be recommending him to friends and family. It's not often you come across talented, polite, and trustworthy tradesman and David is definitely one of those. Thanks again for getting our hot water back up and running.
