Really quick and really professional!

I hired Barnes maintenance property maintenance in my latest job to paint my property. Me and the tradesman agreed on a color. I then paid a deposit to lock a date and the paint. At this point I paid a deposit but still hadn’t even received a full quote (even tho I asked repeatedly). On the day, the tradesman started painting, I stopped him instantly as I noticed the color was much much darker than the one I had asked for, he explained that it would go lighter once it had dried and that it needed multiple coats. But having worked as a labourer before I could tell this just wasn’t the correct color. I called the tradesmen unprofessional as he came with very little equipment (no ladder, no plastics for floors…) The tradesmen left and agreed to come back another day with new paint and with equipment. Once he left he asked me to pay £100 for that day he came as I had “wasted” his day. Before I paid the tradesmen assured me he would find new paint for me. But once I had paid he now asked me to pay a new deposit again for paint and for the date (bear in mind I still didn’t have a full quote) He said that it’s not his fault that we didn’t want the paint, but it’s also not our fault that he brought the wrong paint. I refused to pay this new deposit and the tradesmen doesn’t want to provide new paint even tho he previously agreed and he also won’t refund my deposit. We agreed for him to come back another day and he also wouldn’t unless I paid a new deposit, he only mentioned this after I paid his extra 100 for the wasted day. He keeps asking for new sums of money. I asked my son to talk to him, The tradesmen gave him a very similar version to mine but had said that he asked us to supply the new paint even tho he agreed to himself. We not cannot come to an agreement and the tradesmen seems to mainly be annoyed that I said he was unprofessional as he thinks I was “rude”. But as a customer if your tradesmen shows up to you how’s with the wrong paint and no equipment it’s normal to say something. Not to mention he got very angry and almost physical with me after I said he was unprofessional. I’m a 57 year old 5’4 women it was a rather terrifying experience

Dean did a great job - professional and with great attention to detail. Dean arrived early, and the finish looks great. The whole process was smooth from start to finish. Highly recommend!

Excellent communication throughout the process including sending lots of photos while the painting was being done and I was at work. Friendly service, good price. Would absolutely recommend.
