Roof Conversion
Replacement roof to my extension from flay to pitch. I agreed a price and paid a deposit of £1350 and another £1350 as requested. The 1st 4th April 2022, and 2nd day he did not turn up, day 3 only worked half day, day 4 just worked a couple of hours. Pile of rubbish not cleared. A few days before Easter I noticed the was in poor condition, I got another builder to inspect. The roof was not correctly constructed, he used small untreated wood for the rafters which was not strong enough to hold the clay tiles, also the pitch was too low, so water would have flow onto the internal ceiling, the batten attached to the wall of the house was not fixed correct bolts and again the batten was not treated and just 4x2 with normal screws. The tiles were not laid correctly and at different lengths, therefore not evenly. It was quite clear they had no intention of insulating the roof and. If the roofer was left to continue at some stage it would leak and collapse, this would have been dangerous. The roofers have not responded to may calls and has not returned. I have incurred additional cost to clear the rubbish. Please do not use this roofer, they are a disgrace.
