Replace Decking and Minor Landscaping
Tristan gave me a very fair quote and started the job immediately. He and Jason did a great job and I’m really happy with the result. Replacement decking, laid much better than the original.. and creating a walkway, cutting into an old stone garden wall, levelling earth on the other side, building a protective barrier around an old tree and suring up the old wall. Tristan comes across as honest and reliable. I would use him again for future jobs.
Garden Decking with Stairs Installation
Tristan started my decking 8 months ago, he told me 3 weeks to complete and £5000. He quickly fed me sob stories about him being out of pocket and under quoting himself and needing money up front to order parts and cover labor over the first few weeks, he seemed trusty worthy so I did. Soon after I paid him the full 5k he came less and less with weeks and even months going with no show, with endless personal life reasons he couldn’t come and fake promises of him coming. 8 months I was left with a garden that was unsafe to use and he came maybe 5/6 times to complete parts of work. What we had ordinary agreed soon became issues and he made out it was never agreed. I ended up having to give him more money to complete parts we had already agreed. I asked for a drawing plan from him early on and said it wasn’t needed and “trust me” and I did. I was scared to confront him as time went on knowing he had the entire 5k and worried he wouldn’t come back. Last week after 8 months pushing him to complete the job he text and told me he’s now not coming back and offered £200 refund from my £5000 I’ve paid and if I’m not happy to take him court and the reason he’s not coming back was first bad back then became my garden is “dig sh** mine” and some other upsetting and unpleasant wording I won’t repeat. My garden is not a sh** mine and the first he’s mentioned in 8 months and the most unprofessional trades man I’ve ever dealt with. He’s completed about 80% of the work but to a lower standard than first agreed but the worst part is the stairs he’s installed are unsafe and slowly falling apart which is at a high height. We’ve been quoted £500-£1000 other decking trade to finish his work he’s not completed and repair/replace the stairs and they were shocked with how unsafe the job has been left. We’ve begged Tristan for closer to £400 refund as we can’t afford this as he’s told us we are the problem and he’s tried to work with us and take me to court £200 covers if. I offered to share quotes I’ve had to fix his work he’s not interested. Ideally I want a refund of £1000 to cover the damage he’s left but we would be happy with 10% of what we’ve paid and to put this stress behind us. I’m so upset and stressed, Tristan please stop ignoring our messages and be empathic and professional and transfer £400 so we can have the stairs made safe or at least transfer the £200 you’ve offered. We just want to be able to use our garden and put the last 8 months of stress behind us. I wish you can post pictures in review as I have all this evidence in texts and pictures of condition we’ve been left in and conversations as it’s seems if anyone leaves a bad review about him he calls them liars.

Extend Patio and Install Timber Planters
Tristan and Jason were consummate professionals when performing our garden patio levelling, extension and installation of raised planters. From the outset they were polite, friendly and professional. They were able to take our vision and make it a reality, taking on suggestions throughout and executing perfectly. Tristan communicates well and managed to complete this job to a very high standard. I couldn't recommend them enough!

Boundary Wall Crack Repointing Repair
I can’t recommend TCK Property Maintenance highly enough, particularly Tristan Knowles, for his honesty and professionalism. I recently needed a simple repair to some cracked pointing on my boundary wall and received quotes ranging anywhere from £250 to £520. It quickly became a bit of a minefield, with some contractors suggesting removing bricks and significantly increasing the scope (and cost) of what should have been a straightforward job. Tristan stood out immediately. After reviewing photos I sent over, he was completely transparent and advised that the work should cost no more than £150 and take around 90 minutes to complete. No upselling, no unnecessary work – just honest, straightforward advice. Although I ultimately went with another contractor due to combining the job with additional shed work, I felt it was important to leave this review. Even after I let him know, Tristan remained exceptionally polite, professional, and understanding throughout. That level of integrity is rare to find. I wouldn’t hesitate to contact TCK Property Maintenance again in the future and would strongly recommend Tristan to anyone looking for trustworthy and reliable work.
