The furniture I built from new is NOT falling apart at all. I built a 'wood effect' TV unit (from new - furniture 24) and there's no way that can be falling apart... What might be falling apart is the second hand IKEA PAX wardrobe that I was not told was second hand until I found it. The fittings, dowels, cams etc... to assemble the unit were all thrown in a blue kebab-shop bag on the floor, half the fittings were missing anyway and there was no hardboard panelling to fit to the frame to create a back for the wardrobe and no doors for the front either. How you expect an 8ft+ tall chipboard frame (2 x sides, top and bottom) to be as sturdy as a full wardrobe with a back, shelves, doors etc... I really do not know, plus this item had already been half or fully built before and then taken apart badly. Second hand flatpack does not ever go back together as well as it does when new. I spent 5 hours there struggling in limited space across a doorway opening with all sorts of junk and rubbish strewn around the room the wardrobe was supposed to go in. To be honest the room looked like Steptoe's yard and you expect me to build a second hand 8ft+ wardrobe FRAME with half the bits missing and make it like brand new ?? I explained to the person in attendance (sister ??) that the frame really needed a back panel but that there wasn't one. In terms of the £75 v £80, had I not have struggled for 5+ hours in such ridiculous conditions without even so much as an offer of a glass of water let alone, god forbid, a cup of tea, I might have been inclined to accept £75. £80 was my original quote for 2 large pieces of furniture, plus the job lead already cost me £6 to purchase, so all in all I don't think a £76 for 2/3 of a days work in a London Borough is bad really do you ??? A few tips for you in future... when hiring tradesmen to assemble flat pack furniture for you... a) Let them know if items are second hand, rather than implying everything is new - I asked in a prior text if all items were new and was told 'yes'. b) Don't expect a furniture builder, or indeed anyone else. to be able to assemble HALF of an 8ft+ wardrobe with no back panels there to fit and then expect it to stand up strong and tall like the Eifel Tower...!! It won't... I told the person in attendance that after it was built and also to buy a back panel for it and fit it asap. c) When expecting furniture builders to build large items / wardrobes in bedrooms, I'd suggest you plan ahead and give them plenty of room to work in - not just the ridiculous 4ft x 5ft area of floor that wasn't covered in junk, clutter, soiled underwear and clothes that I had to work with for 5 hours. To be honest, you should think yourself lucky I didn't just turn around and walk away and that I stuck with it for all the hours I did. Plenty of other builders I know would have been gone before they even started. Clueless... Good day.
    Flat Pack Furniture Assembly

Poor quality of work. Furniture falling apart after 1 day. Agreed price for £75.00 but he collected £80.00 from my sister, in much my absence. No honesty shown. Would not respond to my text messages and calls when I tried to call him to explain my concerns Wouldn't recommend this person

Oh.... and you might like to just check my other feedback on here from previous customers... Emily, Kunle, Lisa, Kiana, Florence, Amina, Symmone, Jackie and Stephen are all flatpack furniture jobs and the feedback speaks for itself. If there were any issue with the quality of my work I think it would have been highlighted by now don't you...? And these are only the handful of customers who have taken the few minutes necessary to leave some words of feedback - there are just as many jobs completed to the same high standard that have not left any feedback... Try thinking about what you are asking someone to come into your house to do before they get there and be honest with them rather than lieing about second hand v new - it makes a big difference, as you can now see. ;o)
