Steve charged my elderly neighbours £370 for less than an hour’s work. This can be verified by timestamps from the video doorbell. Shortly after his departure, my neighbour came to ask where he was, as the work requested had not been completed. I called Steve immediately, and he said he couldn’t return that day but would follow up the next week. When I followed up on 16th December, Steve stated that the work had been completed as agreed and that the neighbours were satisfied when he left. However, this was not their perspective. Additionally, I contacted Steve on 19th December about rubbish from the job that had not been cleared away. The rubbish was later found stacked behind the shed. Observations of this placement and the manner in which it was arranged suggest it had been left there deliberately. Despite further follow-ups, no action was taken to collect the rubbish or address the neighbours’ concerns. Given this experience, I would urge anyone, particularly those who are elderly or vulnerable, to seriously consider whether to use this tradesperson. I would also request that this site suspends Steve’s account pending a full investigation into his conduct to ensure the protection of future customers.
