He came that afternoon and completed both parts of the job without a fuss. Before leaving he told me I could contact him if there were any problems. For what it's worth, his fee was one-third of what the robber plumber quoted me a few months ago.

Upstairs Toilet Repair Needed
Shane was able to come and see me just 45 minutes after I had posted the job. He quickly assessed that the aged toilet needed a new flush system and so went and collected one from the local supplier. He had quoted me an agreed price to complete the work which I was happy with. The job itself turned out to be more complicated than he first thought and the new replacement system turned out to be faulty as well so he had to return to the supplier to get this replaced and then fit the new part once again. There were then some challenges with the cut-off valve which needed some delicate adjustment but eventually the job was completed. What should’ve taken perhaps an hour ended up taking Shane three hours in total, but he was extremely polite and friendly and very competent with the work that he completed. What was outstanding was that he did not increase the quoted charge to me despite the lengthy amount of time it had taken him to get the job done so all credit to him for being so decent and honest and not trying to overcharge me due to the issues that had occurred. I would fully recommend him for future work and a big thank you to him for helping me out today.
