Replace Glass in UPVC Windows
When Patrick finished replacing the double-glazed windows in my utility room, he advised me that I should let the window settle for a few hours before opening.I know the glass in these windows only sit on plastic spacers so there is nothing to settle. I opened the window and found that it wouldn't close properly. I asked Patrick to go back and correct this. Obviously, the panes hadn't been balanced properly, so the weight distribution of the glass was wrong, which was why the window wouldn't close. All Patrick needed to do was open the the frame up, re-balance the glass on the spacers and the window wouldv'e closed properly, as they had done before he worked on them. Instead, Patrick took an angle grinder and cut a part out the window frame and that was how he got the window to close.

Scot-Plas Windows(Coatbridge)LtdHi Hugh , thank you for your wonderfull review , thank you for taking the time to write it , but i do have a few points that I need to correct on your review as you have made us out to be at fault here which is not the case. Firstly the little plastic spacers , they align the window and these where put back in the way they came out. Secondly i asked you to let the glass settle before you put the film you are attaching to them on , I did not ask you to let the window settle . Thirdly , we did not open the windows to replace the glass , maybe we should have and found out the did not work to start with . Forthly , if someone tells you not to touch anything which you insinuate I did , why did you as soon as we were out the door find that the windows did not work , it does not take Sherlock homes to work out that you knew these did not work and we will just blame the guys fitting the glass . I could have walked away and said not my problem , but i did not i got them working and opening and closing better than they probably ever have . See if you had just been upfront and said they dont work very well , we would have sorted them for you , but the underhand way you did it put a bad taste in my mouth .I hope you trying to make yourself sound important and trying to badmouth 2 guys trying to put food on the table for their families makes you feel good for a few hours . enjoy your new glass and free fix of your old windows .

Replace 2 Blown Window Panes
