An excellent pair of gates fitted to perfection. Ryan was very good at showing the options and discussing the job with me, we agreed a date that worked for us both and they were supplied and fitted in less than a day. I will definitely be asking Ryan about other jobs that we want doing in the near future.

Chimney Building / Repair
Ryan completed a very complicated job for me in my home. It was a large chimney breast removal with the stack reaching over 3 meters in width in the loft at its widest point as well as the knocking through of a recessed front door and building a newly shaped front opening. From the start, out of all the builders I called around for a quote, Ryan was the only one who went into the loft and looked in detail at the job at hand and he went away and priced the job broken down element by element. In addition to this, he advised I get structural drawings to give to the council as an oversight by the building regulations officer at the Coventry city council meant they granted me the approval to proceed without even looking at the chimney. This is where Ryan then advised I alert the council of their oversight and to go back to them with structural drawings to be signed off due to the complicated nature of the job, not being a straight forward traditional slim chimney, and this would also cover me against any future sign-off issues etc. All other builders simply gave me a quotation on the spot and didn't even bother to go into the loft, instead just assuming the width of the chimney would be standard size (which it wasn't and from the structural engineering drawings I got from Ryan's suggestion, they meant custom steels had to be fitted with extra brackets). I'm certain another builder would've done half a job due to their initial negligence in giving a thorough inspection before a quotation was given). Still living in the house whilst work was carried out, he ensured everything was covered with tarp and kept a clean working environment making it possible to live-in whilst work was happening. From his punctuality to his expertise and quality workmanship, Ryan was a fantastic builder and by no means a typical "Jack the Lad" type workman. Any additions which were needed, Ryan was honest and upfront as every penny cannot be accounted for accurately in the initial quotation (common sense) and so a final account of any extras was given for me to pay Ryan at the end however Ryan's honesty and up-front nature means he is a very trustworthy workman who will give all explanation/evidences/justifications if/when required. Would 100% recommend.
