I have been an Architectural Technician for 16 years, initially working at a medium sized Practice for 4 years, I then worked at a smaller Practice for 10 years before I set up working for myself. I work from home, just outside York but I have travelled to a variety of places around England and Wales for projects, mainly commercial projects and most of the domestic projects I have done are quite local to the York area. The majority of the projects are domestic extensions, loft conversions and refurbishments but I have been produced drawings for new builds and commercial projects. As most of the projects I undertake are domestic extensions, loft conversions and refurbishments, I have a good knowledge of what you can build without needing planning permission, the obstacles that clients may face when trying to get the layout and design that they want and how to overcome them or adapt to them as needed. I always try to give clients the best advice to suit their requirements and budget and have nearly talked myself out of the work a couple of times by doing so. I understand that a small extension can be a big undertaking for people both financially and emotionally so I am always happy to offer advice and answer any questions.
