Our organisation has been providing damp and timber surveys for over thirty-five years, based initially in the North East and now throughout the UK. Our team’s experience ranges from stately homes to one-bedroom flats. One thing that our clients can be assured of is that they will receive exactly the same high standard of professionalism and courtesy, no matter what size or type of property, and in every location we cover.

With a strong background in property and surveying, I bring extensive experience to my role as an Independent Damp & Timber surveyor with Neil Marsden Associates. I began my career on the tools, gaining hands-on experience in property construction and maintenance before transitioning to a well-known estate agent. There, I developed a deep understanding of the property market through various roles, ultimately becoming a Trainee Property Valuer. This foundation gave me valuable insight into property structures, valuations, and client needs.
Building on this expertise, I transitioned into surveying at a company specialising in property preservation and refurbishment, where I earned my Certified Surveyor of Timber and Damp in Buildings (CSTDB) qualification and worked closely with private clients, councils, housing associations, sales and letting agents, RICS surveyors, and other property professionals. This experience enhanced my ability to assess a wide range of properties and collaborate effectively within the industry.
With hands on experience in diagnosing all forms of damp, timber decay, insect infestation and associated structural issues, I provide clear, unbiased reports with practical and cost-effective recommendations. No sales pitches, just honest advice. All reports are followed up with ongoing support once issued.
