Church Hall Redecoration & Repair
I needed to obtain 3 quotes to redecorate our community hall, I felt bullied into taking on KMD as he left numerous messages and badgered me. He was the middle quote, not the cheapest, but I thought it would be ok. He didn't provide a proper written quote, so in order to please the hall committee, I wrote one myself to present to them using the figures he'd supplied. He appreciated that I'd gone out on a limb for him to get the job and gave me wine and flowers as a thank you. They started work on time, but were very sloppy, they got paint everywhere! they even got paint on the toddler group toys in the storage area! When I challenged them about the mess, I got told ''well it's just a crappy hall, it's going to get messed up again by the hirers anyway'' I asked them to come back to ''finish off'' some of the painting, which he did for 1 day, but it wasn't finished to my satisfaction and I was accused of being overly picky. We paid half the money up front and then he had demanded the other 50% before the job was completed, so we had no hold over them and had to accept a bad job. He explained he had another job to go to so he couldn't come back again that week, he said he would come back the following week, I waited in the hall all day but he didn't show up. We then paid another company to come and sort out the mess, repainting and touching up. We've had to get new 12ft stage curtains because the gloss wouldn't come out, we've had to pay for someone to steam clean the carpet in the entrance, and replace the cork matting, and we paid for the wooden floor to be sanded and revarnished as there was so much white gloss paint everywhere. I then spent a week cleaning the place. We had to replace some of the toddlers toys, it has ended up costing us an extra £5,000. The committee were deeply unhappy about it, as we are a charity and simply don't have the money to waste. It has been a stressful experience for me, and I cannot recommend this company. Sorry
Paint External Walls of 3 Bed House
Currently 4 out of 5 but there's a little fishing off to be done, which is reliant on other trades doing their bit. I fully expect it to become a 5 out of 5. Kim is a decent guy, true to his word, and well priced. Recommended.
Install Picket Fence and Gate
Kim fitted a picket fence around my front garden. It was quite a large space and hard work and detail went into every slat. Great communication. Would recommend.
Fix 2 Doors Not Shutting Properly
Very good job done and cleaned up afterwards

Job done on time and at agreed price. Kim also painted the wood to preserve it.

Attended a day after I advertised, gave a very fair quote and is carrying out the work as I type this. Job's looking good and just what we wanted. I'd be happy to recommend KMD & Sons.
